Silicon Power US75 M.2 2280 2TB PCIe 4.0 SSD Review

Storage/SSD by stefan @ 2023-12-25

The US75 2TB drive from Silicon Power does use less familiar components, such as the MAXIO MAP1602A 4-channel controller but also the YMTC VSYMT04TA104 232-layer NAND with Xtacking 3.0 technology; this new technology incorporates a 6-plane NAND design which does improve speed and also efficiency. We were quite surprised that the drive can maintain up to 850MB/s writes even after having filled more than half of the capacity, while the drive price is good when compared to the competition.

In the HD Tune Writes workload, it is shown how the drive performance can drop just a bit when SLC has been filled and it tries to recover; after the short recovery, the performance is returning to normal levels:

The drive endurance is rated to about 1200TB and the drive is also backed by a 5-year limited warranty. A the time of the review, the drive was available online for about 149 Euros.
