XTRFY MZ1 RGB Wireless White Gaming Mouse Review

Others/Mice & Keyboards by stefan @ 2023-12-03

After charging the MZ1 Wireless fully, we started testing in Redfall, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Diablo 4, Anvil but also in Halo Infinite. We did really enjoy the claw grip, while the textured plastic does feel good even during longer gaming sessions. The mouse did track flawlessly on our CORSAIR MM700 RGB Extended pad, and we were quite surprised of the overall mouse weight, considering that it also hods a 500 mAh battery.

A Closer Look Part II

On its back, we will note a rubber foot, so the adapter will remain steady on the surface we will use it on:

The USB adapter is tiny, not obstructing access to nearby USB ports (if available):

The mouse was specifically designed for a fingertip grip/claw grip and measures 111 x 52.5 x 36.5 mm. Unlike other mice, the highest point is in the back which successfully offers a good palm support; we are dealing with a holed design in order to keep weight as low as possible:

The translucent plastic of the MZ1 Wireless build looks interesting even when the RGB effects are not turned on and when looking more carefully, we will also note that the top area of the mouse is wider than the bottom area, which helps with grip:

The two main buttons are accompanied by a rubberized middle scroll wheel which is also RGB enabled; the white button in the vicinity does have multiple functions, as we will show later:

The holed design is present on the sides as well; during our tests, we found that the two extra buttons on the left are well aligned with the thumb, for easy access:

The right side shape is a bit different, without extra buttons, while the holed pattern following another design:

On the bottom area, the same holed pattern is present, with the sticker which does include the product serial number, the middle sensor lens, the Polling Rate button with LED (125Hz, 500Hz, 1000Hz), white PTFE feet but also three screws. The screws near the sensor lens are adjustable for selecting the mouse weight balance and for that we have been offered a free screwdriver. The screw in the back does secure the back cover, which is not magnetically secured to the rest of the chassis:

The main mouse functions are adjustable by sliding the button in different positions. The CPI selector will allow cycling between CPI values of 400, 800, 1200, 1600, 3200, 4000, 7200 and 19000, by using the top button near the scroll wheel; the RGB mode allows cycling between different effects with the same button, adjust the color of some effects if the central button is used along with the right click, adjust the LED brightness if the central button is used along with the side buttons, adjust the speed with central button + left click or turn off the RGB off if the scroll wheel and the central button are pressed together for 3 seconds. The last function does allow the user to set the mapping of the top button to Page Down. The lift-off distance can be also adjusted by pressing both left and right buttons, along with both lateral buttons for 3 seconds, in order to switch between 1mm and 2mm, while the debounce rate can be set by pressing the scroll wheel and both lateral buttons for 5 seconds, in order to adjust between 2, 4, 8 or 12ms:
