Patriot Viper Venom RGB 32GB (2X16GB) 6000MHz Memory Kit Review

The new Viper Venom 32GB DDR6000 C36 kits do perform great at lower stock voltage versus the predecessor, while offering nice RGB effects when configured via the ASUS/Gigabyte/MSI/ASRock tools or the dedicated Viper RGB software. The modules are not very tall, with a height of about 4.3cm to help with compatibility when using large air coolers and are backed up by a limited lifetime warranty.

Packaging, A Closer Look

From the Viper Gaming brand owned by Patriot Memory, we will look upon a new Viper Venom DDR5 memory kit, which is equipped with both Intel XMP and AMD EXPO profiles, carries cool looking heatsinks but also a configurable RGB system.

The latest C36 SKUs of the 2x16GB DDR6000 Viper memory kits do carry the same specs as the previous model, but now the 6000MHz XMP pre-programmed on XMP and EXPO is reached by using 1.25V versus the previous which was set at 1.35V.

The kit is offered inside a slim cardboard enclosure, which does show the designed operating frequency, the fact that we are dealing with a RGB-enabled product, but also logos of the supported profiles, for both Intel and AMD platforms:

On the back side, we will note links to the online resources, the full product code name, its serial number, photos of the supported motherboard tools for controlling RGB effects of the modules, but also two small cutouts to get a glimpse of the module heatsinks:

Inside, the modules are additionally protected inside a transparent plastic mold enclosure:

Here are how the modules do look outside the box:

The heatsinks do come with a two-color scheme, and we will note the Viper logo in two different variants:

The back side of each module does include a sticker as well, which shows the total memory capacity per module, the operating frequency, the supported CAS latency but also the operating voltage:

The top area comes with a RGB light diffuser in the middle, and at the same time it does not raise the height of the modules further, which is great regarding compatibility; a small, red Viper logo is observed here as well:

The corners of the diffuser are curved, for a more modern design:

The RGB lighting looks great in operation:
