Shuttle XPC slim DA320 Robust 1.3-litre Mini PC for AMD Review

Others/All-in-one PC by stefan @ 2021-02-14

The 1.3-litre XPC slim DA320 mini PC from Shuttle is the company’s first AMD compact barebone and features most of the connectivity options we have seen with the Intel variants. The chassis is not the latest design as the DH470, meaning that we do not get USB Type-C ports, the new frontal panel or air filters on the top cover but all other aspects do match the previous barebone SKU. In terms of performance with a similarly priced Intel CPU (such as the i3-10100), the AMD Ryzen 5 2400G does fall a bit behind regarding CPU performance, but simply destroys the Intel platform when looking at the GPU scores.

A Closer Look Part IV

For a more convenient comparison, we will use the same DDR4 SODIMM 2400MHz kit from Crucial as on the other barebones, but also the same Intel SSD. Additionally, Shuttle was nice and included the M.2 WiFi Accessory (WLN-M) but also the PS02 stand kit for mounting the barebone in a vertical position:

Of course, the system cannot be functional without the core, which consists of the AMD Ryzen 5 2400G with Radeon RX Vega 11 Graphics; the processor comes with four cores and a maximum of eight threads, while the maximum boost clock is set at 3.9GHz:

The PS02 stand kit does come with the two black aluminum stands but also the screws for mounting:

The WLN-M kit does contain the antenna ports with two separate cable sizes, the actual antennas but also the WiFi+BT M.2 card:

By following the guidelines, the CPU installation can be done in just a snap!

Same can be said with the memory installation:

The Intel 760P installation was easily done thanks to the included screw:

While the WiFi/BT card installation can be done in a few seconds, the supplied antenna ports/cables will take a while to sort out:

The final part would be to install the cooling system onto the CPU by using the supplied thermal paste, placing the cover back in its place and installing the WiFi antennas:
