Patriot Memory has recently sent out two modules of their 16GB SODIMM DDR4 C18 2666MHz Viper Steel Modules, which can be considered a great upgrade for mainstream gaming and productivity laptops. These are shipped in cardboard/plastic packaging as single units:
The frontal area of the packaging does feature a sticker with the total module capacity, its standard, but also the operating frequency; though the plastic window we can also take a look on how the module does really look like:
On the back side of the packaging, we will be able to note a small product description in multiple languages, the address to various Patriot Offices, links to online resources but also the product SN and internal code name:
Each module is packaged separately inside a transparent plastic mold, so it won’t get damaged during transit:
The modules are easy to remove from the enclosure and do feature large Viper Steel sticker in front:
On the back, a similarly-sized sticker is available, but with more information such as the product code name, its specifications (DDR4 Steel 16GB 2666MHz CL18 1.2V), a barcode but also some additional codes:
Here is a photo on the side of the module, which shows how the sticker is applied on the ICs:
We will replace the currently installed Silicon Power 2x16GB memory kit on our trusty DELL 7577 laptop with the new kit from Patriot Memory:
