Patriot P300 M.2 PCIe Gen 3 x4 1TB SSD Review

Storage/SSD by stefan @ 2020-09-28

Even if the P300 is a DRAMless implementation with the Silicon Motion 4-channel SM2263XT, the drive supports Host Memory Buffer and coupled with the pseudo-SLC caching in the NAND ICs, we do get decent performance while writing continuously to the drive, in many cases exceeding the performance we would get with a mechanical drive. The performance will vary depending on the system you are using the drive on and the 1TB version of the P300 comes with rating of 320TB TBW.

In order to have an idea over how the caching works during continuous writes, we have performed the HD Tune write test on it:

The drive is clearly thought to be installed in entry level to mainstream systems in order to boost the overall system performance and is also backed up by a 3-year warranty.

The 1TB model can be now found online for as low as 103.9 Euros!
