BIOSTAR RACING B550GTQ AM4 Motherboard Review

The B550GTQ AM4 board from BIOSTAR is a very interesting affordable and compact offering, which sports a clean design, including reinforced PCI-E slots, enough connectivity ports, passive cooling for the chipset and the ability to install no less than four memory modules. The UEFI interface has been further refined and contains enough options for system tuning as well; as we have noted with other platforms sporting Ryzen 3000 processors, manual overclocking is not really needed, since the CPU will clock itself accordingly depending on the cooling system and other operating factors.

BIOSTAR Applications Part I

BIOSTAR has made available the well-known software suite for this board; we do have the BIOSCreen Utility, which allows changing the initial UEFI boot image:

With the BIOS Update Utility, we will be able to check for new versions and perform updates:

The RACING GT EVO Utility has reached its third iteration, with improved graphics, while the main functionality remains the same. The main menus to work with are available on the left side of the GUI; beginning with the System Information area, we will find some more details about the components:

Smart Ear section will allow the user to adjust the audio volume levels but also the gain level:

The GT Touch menu places at the users’ disposal three different preset profiles, regarding system performance:
