Silicon Power 2x16GB DDR4-2666 SODIMM Memory Kit Review

On our DELL Inspiron 7577 test laptop, the overall performance of the Silicon Power kit trails the one of the previously tested Crucial dual-channel kit in most applications, which was to be expecting, considering that both products run at the same frequency and timings. The one notable benefit Silicon Power brings is the double quantity of RAM, which is helpful when unpacking large archives, editing video projects, working with many other applications at once, without the need of offloading to the main drive.

For the DELL machine, no extra modifications were needed inside the UEFI BIOS, the kit ran as intended right after the hardware installation; the only slowdown was with the initial boot, when the BIOS did perform some additional tests in order to adapt to the new configuration.
