Last time we have checked out a SODIMM kit was when we have tested the 2x8GB DDR4-2666 offering from Crucial, that was an improvement over the single 16GB DDR4-2400 module our DELL Inspiron 7577 has come with from the factory. Now its time to try out a higher capacity kit, also rated at DDR4-2666 and the same timings. The Silicon Power dual channel kit is shipped in a simple blister packaging, fully sealed. Given its transparent properties, we can also take a look at the physical aspect of the modules:

On the back side of the packaging, we will get some extra information regarding to Silicon Power but also the product serial number:

The included instructional leaflet does contain some words regarding warranty, but also the mandatory installation procedures:

The modules come with a black PCB and a pre-applied sticker:

On the sticker we will find the product serial number, the internal, factory code name but also the module specifications:

One 16GB SODIMM contains a total of eight ICs, each having a 2GB capacity:

The ICs carry the SP logo and the 4N8085A4B74 code name:

The upgrade process is quite simple, and it only involves removing the back plastic panel of our Inspiron 7577 and removing the old kit:
