On the 27th of June 2019, Razer is celebrating something very special and to be more exact it has reached the milestone of selling over 10 million DeathAdder mice. Since the first model in 2006 (I do remember winning one in a contest along with the Barracuda HP-1 headphones and the Tarantula keyboard), Razer has perfected the model and launched over 25 editions so far.

Since the first model in 2006 (I do remember winning one in a contest along with the Barracuda HP-1 headphones and the Tarantula keyboard), Razer has perfected the model and launched over 25 editions so far.
The iconic 2006 version of the DeathAdder did feature 3G infrared sensor technology, with a DPI of 1800 and was paired with 1000Hz Ultrapolling and 1ms response. Even after using the mouse for several months, we did not see signs of wear on the rubber coating and the skin oils, lint was easily removable with a damp cloth. The mouse was launched at a competitive price of $59.99 in USA and did also come with a 30-day money guarantee program.
On 26.09.2007, Razer has arrived with a new revision of the DeathAdder, named Guild Wars Edition and basically this was the first ever licensed version of the mouse. The technical specifications are shared with the original version:
The 20.04.2008 date marks the launch of the DeathAdder for Mac OS X; this version did allow users to adjust “on-the-fly sensitivity”, so it could be set to optimal values, depending on the selected game:
DeathAdder 3500 was next, with an upgraded 3.5G infrared sensor and a maximum DPI of 3500:
Another interesting release was the DeathAdder Left Hand Edition, which was actually the first gaming mouse designed specifically for left-handed gamers:
In order to celebrate five years since its debut, the DeathAdder Black Edition was launched on 27.01.2011 and did ship with the exact same price as the original:
Two more licensed DeathAdder models followed this one, the Dragon Age II Edition and the Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon Collectors Edition:
With the development of the 4G infrared sensor, Razer has launched on 21.11.2012 the DeathAdder Expert mouse, the most powerful gaming sensor at the time, with a DPI of 6400:

On 23.09.2014, Razer has launched its first RGB-enabled DeathAdder model and an upgraded optical sensor, that upped the DPI to 10K; this was named DeathAdder Chroma:
