Toshiba has recently launched a new SSD from their OCZ series, in order to offer performance and endurance for mainstream system upgrades and to be more exact we are talking about the VX 500. Unlike super high-end area which comes on the PCI Express + NVMe interface (for this Toshiba does have the OCZ RD400 model), the OCZ VX500 occupies the middle class with the SATA 6Gbit/s interface and MLC, while their value segment is taken up by the OCZ TR150, which does also come with SATA 6Gbit/s but TLC flash. The product gets shipped inside a packaging very familiar to us, which we have seen many times before:
The back side of the box presents us with the main product features, a short product description in different languages, but also the product internal code name, serial number and manufacturing date:
Besides the product, which is also protected inside a transparent plastic mold, we are also getting some documentation:
Practically, we are getting a leaflet in order to contact tech support if needed, a guide for downloading Acronis True Image HD 2016 drive cloning software with an activation key, but also a product manual:
As opposed to the previously tested SSDs, this one sports a more industrial look, with a dotted design on the nice aluminum enclosure:
If we do flip the SSD on the opposite side, we will discover a large sticker in the middle with some more details, including the power rating and firmware build number. The central area is also designed a bit inwards, making the overall design quite unique:
