Fnatic Gear Rush G1 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Review

Others/Mice & Keyboards by stefan @ 2016-05-10

The Rush G1 keyboard has a simple and well-thought hardware design, incorporating the extra function keys in the standard layout and featuring Cherry MX switches with LED backlight. The included wrist rest can be installed optionally and adds extra value to the product; however….the current version of the software is not able to install the drivers by itself and requires extra steps to make this done. Without the drivers, the keyboard configuration console will refuse to function and pop up a message that we need to plug in the keyboard, even if it was previously connected to our PC!

If we take a closer look at the function keys, we will first see the multimedia ones, from F1 to F4:

The multimedia keys continue until F6 and with F7 we begin to see the profile keys:

We have five switchable profiles, which continue with the Fnatic Gear Mode key:

The top right corner of the keyboard comes with a large Fnatic Gear logo and under it we do have the Num Lock LED, the Caps Lock LED but also the Fnatic Gear Mode LED:

The LED function switcher keys have been moved to the Num Pad 2/8 keys:

If we take a closer look on the side of the keyboard, we will see that the top layer cover does feature a different color than the bottom:

Let’s focus ourselves on the frontal area of the Rush, which comes with a two-port USB 2.0 hub:
