As the older version, the Kova does sport a race car design and we are dealing with an ambidextrous model; when looking at its outer plastic shell, we remind ourselves of the ROCCAT Nyth finish, which is of good quality and offers quite a bit of grip:
Another feature borrowed from the Nyth is the RGB LED backlighting line, which travels from the left to the right side in order to produce a cool effect on the surface the mouse stays on:
As the original Kova, we will get to see two programmable buttons on each side of the mouse:
On top we will be able to spot the solid 2D Titan Wheel (also featuring RGB lighting) but also one extra programmable button is nearby; in the area where the original Kova had two LED lighting elements, now we will get to see the Smart Cast buttons which are meant to double on our standard mouse left/right click buttons. They are placed optimally in order to be reached with our finger-tip and are quite welcome by people which use quite a lot of macros:
Under the mouse we will get to see an interesting assortment of PTFE feet, while the sensor lens can be found right in the center. Speaking of the sensor, the Kova does feature one 3500DPI Pro-Optic R6 sensor, but thanks to the Turbo Core V2 32-bit ARM processor we can enable overdrive mode which doubles the DPI to 7000; 512KB of memory is used for storing settings:
While the 1.8m cable is fully braided for durability, the custom USB connector is not gold plated as we have seen with other models:
After we do first connect the mouse to a spare USB port, we will be able to spot the LED-lighted areas which do offer a nice overall effect, without annoying the user:
