Motherboards/Intel S1151 by petervandamned @ 2016-02-16

Today the MSI Z170A Xpower Gaming Titanium Edition has arrived, looking astonishing in this new PCB coating.

All the new features like dual M.2, USB 3.1 gen 1, USB 3.1 gen 2, Nahimic audio enhancer and a game boost knob plus separate OC panel. Wow this is one bad boy!

The Gameboost Knob

From the moment i opened the box and took out this motherboard there was another interesting item on the Z170A Xpower besides its PCB.

On the right there is this turn-able knob with a red button on it. What the heck is this? According to MSI:

Easy overclocking with up to 5GHz? This is something worth checking out before i do anything else. We are crazy as shrimps! But this is new for me.

What does the manual have to tell us?

Looks promising, doesn't it? But what does this mean? This we can check in the BIOS.

Let me make a big statement first, as i and most of my overclock friends don't like automated overclocking! As we like to tried out several setting and getting lots of BSOD's before we find the best OC solution for the used hardware. However this can maybe help a lot of starters in the OC scene. Later in this review I will play more with the BIOS and do it in a manual fashion. Let's play with noob knobs on the next page.
