Besides the GTX 780 and the GTX 760 we have taken a look on in the previous articles, Nvidia has also launched a new GPU based on the…surprise….GK104 which we have seen before multiple times with the GeForce GTX 660Ti, the GeForce GTX 670, 680 but also the GTX 760. This card is practically a GTX 680 on steroids, with higher GPU clocks, higher memory clocks and an updated Turbo Boost version.
With this GK104 we are seeing the same 32 ROPs along with four Graphics Processing Clusters, each with two SMXes, for a total of 8 SMXes; while the GTX 680 came with a stock clock of 1006MHz, with the GTX 770 we are seeing an update to 1046MHz.
However, with the updated boost system we get under load even higher clocks up to 1085MHz. The GPU clock is not the only feature that has been updated, the GTX 770 being shipped with GDDR5 memory running at 1753MHz versus the one that we have found with the GTX 680 which was clocked at 1503MHz.
The Gigabyte GTX 770 WindForce OC 2GB video card comes packed with their 3X cooler rated for 450W which includes no less than 3 fans; these fans are quite slim and are able to cool the large heatsink and at the same time the board remains with a total height of two slots. The GV-N770OC-2GD card also comes overclocked from the factory, with the GPU clock at 1137MHz and a Turbo of 1189MHz; Gigabyte has left the memory clock at stock values this time.
