GIGABYTE Radeon HD 5670 review(ed because I was forced to)

Videocards/VGA Reviews by massman @ 2010-12-02

Today we're looking at the GIGABYTE Radeon HD 5670 vga card. At first sight nothing special about this card, apart from (reading from the box) enormeous 80mm large fan, the golden (!) plated HDMI connector and to top it off: DX11 support. Oh, and it's also Windows 7 compatible. Actually, the card doesn't look that bad, as in 'I have seen worse'. It's not a real good looker, though ... but it's what is underneath that big cooler that matters.

Introduction

I haven't written a review in quite some time now, the main reason being caught up with the HWBOT project. To be honest, I miss it sometimes: getting fresh hardware and putting them through various testing, being able to find the bugs and quirks and report them to manufacturers who then refuse to acknowledge the problem, stating the product is definitely good but not give an award and then receive an email with the request to please give an award. It's all part of the game, I guess. Sometimes life of a reviewer can be tough, sometimes it can be extremely cool, not in the least when new technology comes around and you're one of the first to touch it.

Today, however, we're looking at the GIGABYTE Radeon HD 5670 vga card. Nothing special about this card, apart from (reading from the box) enormous 80mm large fan, the golden (!) plated HDMI connector and to top it off: DX11 support.Oh, and it's also Windows 7 compatible. Actually, the card doesn't look that bad, as in 'I have seen worse'. It's not a real good looker, though ... but it's the inside that matters.

First, some pictures of the card.
