Others/Networking Gear by stefan @ 2015-11-28 read/post comments()

The touch-screen Touch P5 employs is not a marketing gimmick but a useful feature since we can perform the initial configuration steps with its help but also access the main configuration areas during operation; in order to avoid unauthorized access, the router will ask us for the administrator password and its desktop area will show as an intro screen the Guest network details. We do also get other useful information displayed on the screen like which Wi-Fi networks are running (2.4GHz or 5GHz or both), the current product operation mode (Router, Access Point or Repeater), time/date and the number of connected stations. read more

Primal Carnage: Extinction Game Review

Others/Miscelleneous by stefan @ 2015-11-26 read/post comments()

The game needs to be checked out by people which are already bored of zombie games and really want to try something different. The graphics feel a bit dated, but if you like this type of game which is quite fast-paced, it won’t really matter this much; also, by using the older DirectX9 platform, even people with slower systems would be able to enjoy the game at maximum settings, without the need to upgrade. ASUSTOR AS1004T 4-bay NAS Review

Storage/NAS by stefan @ 2015-11-22 read/post comments()

AS1004T NAS takes part of the latest ASUSTOR server series meant for home use, which does sport a Marvell ARMADA-385 1GHz Dual-Core processor, is paired with just 512MB of RAM and can house up to four drives. The chassis has been completely redesigned and in order to access the drives, we will have to completely remove the cover; unlike the previous NASes we have tested from the same company, this unit lacks trays and only 3.5’’ drives are supported for installation. Because of the utilized ARMADA-385 SoC, the overall power consumption is very low, while the four bays are cooled by a single 120mm fan located in the back. We can connect more devices to the NAS, but be aware… read more

Corsair VOID Stereo Gaming Headset Review

Audio/Others by stefan @ 2015-11-14 read/post comments()

While the VOID Stereo is compatible with a wide selection of devices which can output analog audio signal, the quality of the sound is also often influenced by the source. We have connected the headset to our trusty Sound Blaster ZxR sound card and watched some movies, several YouTube clips but also some of the latest TV Shows like Gotham, Grimm, The Walking Dead and so on. The main conclusion is that with the right sound card settings and enhancements, the Stereo is going to sound pretty good but this is also thanks to the 50mm-large Neodymium drivers it incorporates that are also used on the more expensive models. Talking about the microphone, if the sound card from our setup… read more
